The basics
Is this a dating app?
No. Annyeong is built for friendship and community, not dating.
You can discover ARMY by swiping through profiles, using filters, or exploring the World Map. If you want to connect with someone, you can send them a Hello. Once you connect, you can chat one-on-one or in groups.
Annyeong is designed to help you find local ARMY, concert buddies, travel buddies, people with shared interests, and other ARMY to attend events or spend time with in real life.
What does "annyeong" mean?
안녕 (annyeong) is a casual way to say “hi” in Korean, usually used with friends or people you’re close to. The more polite greeting is 안녕하세요 (annyeonghaseyo).
In Annyeong, sending someone a Hello (안녕) is how you invite them to connect. If they respond, you can start a private one-on-one chat.
Is Annyeong affiliated with BTS, BIGHIT MUSIC, or HYBE?
No. Annyeong is an independent app made by fans, for fans. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to BTS, BIGHIT MUSIC, or HYBE.
How much does it cost?
Annyeong is free to use.
You can also upgrade to Annyeong Plus for access to additional features. By choosing Plus, you’re not only unlocking more ways to use the app - you’re also directly supporting the project and our mission to build a safe, dedicated space made specifically for ARMY.
Annyeong Plus is €2.49 per month (before tax) — the final price in your local currency is shown in the App Store / Google Play.
Why can't Annyeong Plus be free?
We’d honestly love everything to be free — but running Annyeong costs real money every month: servers and databases, sending emails, photo storage, ID verification, safety and moderation tools, and maintaining the app.
Annyeong has no ads and we never sell your data — so Plus memberships are what keep it all running. By subscribing, you cover those costs and help keep the core of Annyeong — discovering, connecting, and chatting — free for every ARMY, everywhere.
Launch & waitlist
When does Annyeong launch?
Annyeong launches on 11 September 2026. Everyone on the waitlist will receive an email with launch information and access details.
On which devices will Annyeong be available?
iPhone (App Store) and Android (Google Play), plus the web at app.annyeong.io.
How do I join the waitlist?
Enter your name, email and country at annyeong.io — it takes ten seconds. You also get a personal invite link to share with your ARMY friends.
I joined the waitlist but got no email — what now?
Welcome emails are sent gradually, and Gmail in particular can take a while. Check your spam or promotions folder. You are on the list even if the email arrives later — when Annyeong launches, you will hear from us.
Joining
Who can join?
Anyone who is ARMY and 18 or older. Registration opens worldwide on 11 September 2026, and no invite is required. Until then, you can join the waitlist and we’ll email you with launch information and access details.
How do I sign up?
Starting on launch day, go to app.annyeong.io and enter your email. We’ll send you a sign-in link to create your account and complete your profile.
Once your profile is set up, download Annyeong app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and sign in with the same account.
Do I need a password?
No. Annyeong uses email sign-in links instead of passwords. If you want extra protection, you can add a passkey in settings.
Do I have to use my real name?
No. You choose a username, and adding your first name is optional. Your first name is hidden by default, and you decide whether you want to show it on your profile.
Do I need a profile photo?
You can create your account without a profile photo, but you’ll need an approved photo before you can appear in Discover or send a Hello (안녕).
Annyeong is designed to help ARMY meet and make real connections, so we encourage you to use a clear photo of yourself. Profile photos are reviewed before they appear in Discover, and photos that don’t clearly represent the account holder - including photos that only show BTS members - may be rejected.
Connecting
How do connections work?
When you find someone you’d like to talk to, send them a Hello (안녕). You don’t need to write an opening message.
If they send a Hello back, you become connected and a private one-on-one chat opens between you. If they don’t respond, no chat is created.
Can someone message me out of nowhere?
No. Nobody can chat with you until you've both said 안녕. There are no unsolicited messages on Annyeong.
What happens if someone doesn’t say Hello back?
Nothing happens. If someone doesn’t respond to your Hello (안녕), no connection or private chat is created.
There isn’t a rejection notification - the Hello simply stays unanswered.
Is there a limit to how many 안녕 I can send?
Yes — 10 per day. It keeps every 안녕 meaningful.
What is the Annyeong Badge?
The Annyeong Badge is an optional badge you can earn by passing the Annyeong quiz, a BTS knowledge quiz.
It gives other users an additional trust signal and can be used as a filter when discovering ARMY. You don’t need the Annyeong Badge to create an account or use Annyeong.
Privacy & location
Can people see my exact location?
No. Annyeong never shows your exact location, address, or live GPS position to other users.
Your location is shown only as an approximate area or distance range, so people can understand roughly how close you are without seeing where you actually are. Your precise coordinates are never displayed on your profile or on the map.
What is Travel Mode?
Travel Mode is an Annyeong Plus feature that lets you discover ARMY near a destination before or during your trip.
Set the place you’re travelling to and you’ll appear in Discover there with a ✈️ Travel badge, so other ARMY know you’re visiting. Travel Mode does not change your Home Location, and your travel dates are not shown to other users.
Who can see my age or birthday?
Your age is shown on your profile and used in Discover filters. Your full date of birth is private and is never shown to other users.
We use your date of birth to confirm that you meet Annyeong’s 18+ age requirement.
Can I control what's on my profile?
Yes. You choose what information you add to your profile, including your bio, bias, interests, gender and social links.
Where visibility controls are available, you can also decide what other users can see. Some basic account information, such as your age, may be shown as part of your profile and Discover experience.
Safety
What safety tools are there?
You can block or report other users directly in the app. Blocking takes effect immediately, and the other person is not notified that you blocked them.
For in-person meetups, Annyeong also includes Meet Safely guidance: meet in public, tell someone you trust where you are going, and arrange your own way home.
Everyone using Annyeong must follow our Community Guidelines and Child Safety Standards.
Are there fake profiles or bots?
Annyeong does not create fake profiles, bots, seeded activity, or inflated user numbers.
Every profile you see in the app belongs to a registered user, and we also use profile photo review, reporting and blocking tools, and optional verification features to help keep the community safe and trustworthy.
Events
What are Events?
Events help you discover BTS-related events happening near you and around the world.
You can view event details, see who else is planning to attend, and connect with other ARMY before the event.
Your account
Can I delete my account?
Yes. You can delete your account at any time from the app or the web.
Your profile is removed from Annyeong immediately, and your account is permanently deleted after a 7-day grace period. If you change your mind during those 7 days, you can sign in again and restore your account.

How do I unsubscribe from waitlist emails?
You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in any of our emails.
